Born in Cologne in 1963 and father of 3 children, I am currently a professor in the EPHEC University College EPHEC (Business and Marketing) in Brussels and in Louvain-la-Neuve. Between end 2011 and 2014, I was the Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions (AER). Previously (2000-2011), I worked as Diplomat in the Permanent Representation of Belgium within the European Union for the Brussels-Capital Region.

An author of two publications, “Lobbying in Brussels” and “Networking in Brussels”, I am currently heavily involved in several key European dossiers: regional policy, research policy, the EU 2020 Strategy, the Euro-Mediterranean and Eastern partnerships and multi-level governance. I also published several handbooks such as“The European Parliament in its many shapes and forms” or “What Europe tomorrow?”.
